CREATE YOUR OWN NICHO! A “nicho” box is a shadow box shaped like a church/chapel and used as a portable shrine to an important figure or loved one. They originated as an adaptation of the Roman Catholic ‘retablo’, which is a painting of a patron saint on wood or tin. The key difference is that while retablos are flat, nichos are in the shape of boxes, can be fashioned out of boxes, and often also feature hinged doors, creating an accessible stage-like setting for a significant image.
Our Nichos are handcrafted out of tin, ihave hinges so you can open and insert your own images. Giving you the freedom to change them whenever you like. They come with a hook for hanging on the back.
Measures: 5.25" tall, x 5.1” at the widest point, and .5" deep.
These nichos are completely handmade and hand painted, and as a result, there may be subtle imperfections. These small variations enhance the value and beauty of your piece.
