The Lotus flower is associated with purity of mind, body and spirit.  The flower shows us how beauty can be born from seemingly ugly mud.  It remind us to take our hardships and use them to grow, gain compassion and maturity.  When we detach from life's petty problems we rise into enlightenment and connect more easily with the divine of life.
